Founded in 1993, Clifton, Weiss & Associates Inc. (CWA) is a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) specializing in electronic communication systems planning, design, and integration. Through its 26+ year history, CWA has provided various services for clients in the transportation and utility markets.
Nathan Niles, CEO
Mr. Niles has been a senior executive for over a decade as both a CEO and CFO of companies ranging in size from 15 to over 2,500 employees. In past efforts, he has led the growth of a company from its formation to more than $200 million in revenue. As the President and CEO of Clifton Weiss & Associates, Inc., Mr. Niles develops the vision and executes upon the strategy necessary to realize the company’s goals and objectives. This effort involves hiring the right people, implementing the necessary software and infrastructure, and finally developing and maintaining strong relationships with all stakeholders. He has a BS in Finance from Penn State University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is also a CPA in Pennsylvania.
Elizabeth Clifton, Executive Vice President
Ms. Clifton has over 35 years of experience in military signal intelligence, government, and transportation telecommunications planning, design and construction management. Her expertise includes identifying and documenting client telecommunications objectives and needs, economic and technical evaluation of existing networks, inventory, cost containment and network optimization, traffic analysis, management and administration, and developing needs assessments and strategic planning documents.
Ms. Clifton earned a BA and MS from the University of Massachusetts and an MBA from Simmons College in Boston. She also served in the U.S. Air Force and Army Reserves and held a top secret clearance.
Todd Ellis, Senior Director
Mr. Ellis has over 30 years of experience in telecommunications design, marketing, and business planning. Mr. Ellis has done extensive RF planning and design work for numerous cooperative, municipal, and investor-owned electric, water and gas utilities, airport terminals, and passenger railroads. He has direct experience in Smart Cities concepts, Smart Grid systems, distributed antenna systems, and back office software system integration. He has an extensive communications background including propagation prediction, design, system integration, and product development for wireless, microwave and fiber optic systems. A member of the IEEE and the author of 17 different articles for various periodicals, Mr. Ellis also holds a patent for intelligent street lighting, a patent pending for an innovative Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS) communications technique and is a certified project management professional (PMP). A graduate of North Carolina Wesleyan College, Mr. Ellis holds a BS in Business Administration.
